Integration Overview

Please note that your purchase of the 3rd party SSL installation service doesn't automatically install the SSL on your site, but we're almost there!  Once you submit the needed information on this page processing time takes from 2-3 business days.  This information is needed from you in order to generate a CSR for you to submit to the Certificate Authority where you purchased the SSL from. By providing the Certificate Authority with an encoded block of code based on the information on this page, the Certificate Authority can generate a response file (the SSL Certificate itself) for us to install on our server and apply to your site which looks very similar but is coded with additional information to make sure the communication between your customers and the server here at AmeriCommerce is secure.

An SSL certificate is issued with a defined lifetime and is only good for that time period. To get the maximum value out of your purchase please let us know when you plan for the SSL to be applied to your site (usually coincides with when you want to make your site "live" and begin taking orders online.) This way we aren't applying an SSL until it is actually needed. So while you are working on building your site and preparing it for the day in which you want the site to "go live" the site is still secure but using the AmeriCommerce shared SSL Certificate. You may want to take this into consideration when purchasing your 3rd party SSL Certificate and also when making a decision on how long you want the SSL to be valid. If your 3rd party SSL Certificate is valid for a one year period then you'll need to plan on purchasing the 3rd party SSL installation service in one year from AmeriCommerce to install a renewal or new SSL purchase. Purchasing additional years on your SSL often gives you a discounted rate with most Certificate Authorities and reduces your overall installation costs.
